What have I learned from failing?

I’ve learned from failure that I’m going the right way in life. Most people are afraid of
failing; they want to stay on what we’ll call the safety ship. I don’t enjoy the safety ship; I prefer
the ship moving toward the storm. This is not to say some reckless mission to go out and get
swallowed up by a vicious storm. Moving toward a storm requires navigation skills,
understanding of the seas, and how to read the stars. It takes skill to do anything worthwhile in
life, and I have yet to meet one single person who is doing something great that has never failed.
When you fail, you carve your own way; you figure out what works for you, not the next person,
not him, not her, YOU. The time you take pushing yourself through painful moments creates a
more capable and competent human being. The people who stay on the safety ship are not bad people but don’t gather that exposure to live. They see the path as what’s already there, but failing is like creating a middle path, then realizing when you need to jump onto the path that’s already there, then jumping off to make another path. Failure isn’t linear, and neither is a success. Why reinvent the wheel for all situations? Take what is there sometimes and learn from it, knowing how to adapt to challenges and change. The seas are not won over by those who force upon them but by those who understand and navigate them delicately. This is what I’ve learned from Failing.

4. What have I learned from failing?
