I made this meme because apoptosis is a vital process in our body and helps prevent cancer. Similarly, this meme expresses my feelings on this semester coming to a close. Much like p53 allows cells to perform apoptosis, the close of the semester is helpful in preventing burnout. Every assignment leading up to the end of the semester can be thought of as FasL binding with its receptor site on the target cell as part of the extrinsic pathway, inducing the intrinsic pathway. The cytochrome C released from the cell can be thought of as the intellectual bandwidth leaving my brain space. Cytochrome C’s binding with Apaf-1 proteins to help create the caspase cascade resulting in the final steps of the cell’s demise represent the last days of the semester, where the classes we have succeeded in are phagocytosed in a blur of effort and exhaustion, until they exist no longer.
