For each question, please provide a few thoughtful, well constructed sentences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your First Semester<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Tell us how you have grown from the beginning of the semester to now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From the beginning of the semester till now I have grown in how I do my work. I have gotten better at taking notes and being able to study them a little better. I have also learned how to do better while researching like finding primary sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What were your expectations for this year? Did this semester&#8217;s experiences meet your expectations? Explain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My expectations for this year were pretty low because it is the first semester of my college experience. I did want to get all A\u2019s and B\u2019s for this semester and I am meeting my expectations for the most part. One of my classes, chemistry is beating me around the bush but I can hopefully finish strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What is something you wish you knew 14 weeks ago?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Something I wish I had known 14 weeks ago was to get the help sooner. I wasn&#8217;t scared to ask for help but I didn&#8217;t think I needed it until it was too late. For example, I had an essay for my English class and I was planning on getting help from the writing center. Although I was not fast enough and waited till the last minute and was unable to get an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Study Habits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How much time do you spend studying for each class now vs. at the beginning of the semester?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I study maybe an hour more than at the beginning of the semester but I do not do it nearly enough. I feel like how much I study reflects my grade a lot and need to be more strict on myself about it. When I do study a lot of the time I end up doing well and at least knowing the information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How have your study habits changed?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My habits have not changed too much at all and I would like to fix that. One thing I need to get into habit of doing is setting a time to study or do schoolwork each day of the week. This will help me focus and take the time I need to complete or understand the module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Tell us about a resource that you have used\/learned about this semester that will assist you next semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I have learned about the writing center and was planning on using it. It will help me figure out my paper easier and set me up for success. Instead of one person looking at it I could have multiple which could help me a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What study habits\/techniques will you use going into next semester?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I will start to study at a certain amount of time each day and not deviate from it. I will try and have a balanced school and social life. This will also help me not get distracted because I will have dedicated time to getting what I need to be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health Professions Learning Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>This semester you were enrolled in at least SOC 201S, and HLTH 101. Many of you were also enrolled in CHEM 105N and CHEM 106N, and some of you were enrolled in HIST 104H with Professor White.\n<ul>\n<li>On the surface these classes do not appear to be connected; however this semester each professor was intentional about drawing connections between the content, and subjects discussed. Discuss how these courses are tied together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parallel Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>This semester we had presentations from different majors in the College of Health Sciences as well as from different majors on campus. This was to give you an idea of possible parallel majors to your current intended major.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Which two other majors would you be most interested in? Why?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The first major I would be most interested in would be Dentistry because I am interested in the dental field and it would be a similar path to Nursing. The second major I would be most interested in would be Sports medicine because I am still helping people but this would be my very last option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What benefit is there to having a parallel plan (or two) in place?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One benefit to having a parallel plan would be that if you end up not liking your major you are already on a path to try another major. It can also show you what else you can do while you are in another major. Having one or more backup options planned out can help you in the future so if you do want to switch you already have an idea of what you want to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How could one or both of these two majors benefit your current intended major?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>These two majors could not necessarily benefit my current intended major besides maybe more background knowledge of health. However, if I did end up wanting to switch to one of these majors I would already have a lot of credits going toward both of these majors.
