The first being confidentiality, which involves the protection of private data and info from unauthorized access. Confidentiality closely relates to privacy in a way. An article by Coursera uses sending an email as an example, explaining that the protections in place that keep your email private are measures related to confidentiality. The second principle is integrity, which is important to make sure a company’s data analysts are using correct information. A framework with proper integrity keeps data safe from unnecessary, accidental changes. The final principle is availability, which involves the idea of people being able to get access to data if they need it. All together, these principles play an important role in the security of a business or organization.

Authentication vs. Authorization
Authentication primarily concerns assuring confidentiality and integrity. By authenticating users, systems can regulate access to important data while maintaining its secrecy. The authentication procedure helps to protect the system’s integrity by guaranteeing that only authorized entities can make modifications or access certain resources. Authorization is directly related to restricting access to resources, which helps to preserve confidentiality and availability.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the CIA Triad is essential for the protection and future of growing businesses in today’s world. I believe the CIA Triad creates success and growth within businesses. After researching and writing on this topic, I think that the triad is under looked in some businesses and should be used everywhere.

References
“What Is the CIA Triad?” Coursera, www.coursera.org/articles/cia-triad.
