What are four majors offered by ODU and explain how those majors relate to cybersecurity?

One major that is related to the Cybersecurity field is computer science. Computer scientists often make the programs that are used on a daily basis for us people. With new programs being made there needs to be security made for it for the safety of people’s information. They also share the fact that we both troubleshoot whenever something is wrong.

The second major that is related to cybersecurity is criminal justice. Cybersecurity can help a lot of professionals in the crime field. They often come together and form a new area of study which is called cybercrime that is offered at ODU. With them being meshed together it helps them not only to have professionals in criminal justice but also in cyber. This makes it easier for people trying to find out who has done something to illegally interfere with a person or corporations technology and find the appropriate punishment for them

The third major that is related to cyber is information technology. Most people in information technology are there to help people setup and maintain programs for a division in a company. Programs like installing new antivirus solutions for computers so that they can keep their important information confidential. These antivirus programs are created and maintained by people that work in cybersecurity.

The fourth major that is related to cybersecurity is engineering. Around in this area there are many military contracting firms that work very close with the government. Many of these firms construct items for the military that need to stay secret from the rest of the world for national security purposes. Most of the blueprints that have been made are all stored on computers since everything in this age is digital. Cybersecurity comes into play with them engineering a perfect security system for their engineering firm in order for them to keep that secrecy.
