The cyber world has created a lot of deviance in the workplace. With the use of technology it is very easy to access anything that is on the internet. Many workplaces of enacted rules on what you can look up and do on your computers. It is very hard to control these types of people in the workplace if you have so many of them on a network. Many people like to look at not safe for work content on the internet which is a very inappropriate act to do while at the office when you’re supposed to be working. Many schools and workplaces have installed a content blocker on their networks so that their computers are not allowed to access any sites that don’t pertain to working which is a very smart idea. with these company networks it is very easy to track what someone is doing on their device that they have by looking at their history of sites and what they have downloaded onto their systems by doing an audit. Audits are easy to find out what an employee has been doing instead of their work and you can see if there is any reason to fire or keep them and give them a punishment for their actions. There have also been many problems with harassment in the workplace when it comes to email and other types of communication. It is inappropriate to say such things while in a workplace to someone that’s uncomfortable with it. Another reason why the cyber world is negative is because of personal devices. Personal devices are not controlled by the company and can be used to record some very sensitive information. Most companies that deal with this type of information have banned cell phones from inside of their buildings and that has seemed to help them greatly.
