Reflecting on My Journey as a Program Assistant<\/span><\/h1>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 During my first 50 hours as a Program Assistant, I saw considerable progress while<\/strong><\/span>
working directly with the iLab and its programs.<\/strong> My major responsibilities have been<\/span>
becoming acquainted with various pieces of equipment and facilitating Makerspace<\/span>
workshops for K-12 kids. Early on, I discovered that dealing with younger pupils had<\/span>
engagement issues. Some pupils might rapidly comprehend subjects, while others would<\/span>
require further assistance. This mix of managing rapid learners and aiding others who<\/span>
required additional help enabled me to design a flexible teaching method that could<\/span>
accommodate various learning speeds. I observed that providing meaningful, real-life<\/span>
examples and promoting hands-on engagement helped students comprehend the tools and<\/span>
activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Another component of my position has been to assist with event setup and cleaning,<\/strong>
which has taught me how to organize and coordinate successfully.<\/strong> Event preparation may be
a time-consuming process that requires meticulous attention to detail, especially when it
comes to ensuring that the equipment is ready and arranged for each session. I learned to
work with the team to distribute assignments properly, which helped me enhance my
teamwork and time management abilities. The experience also taught me the value of
post-event debriefings, in which we would evaluate what went well and where we needed to
improve. These reflection times are critical since they reveal how we might improve future
efforts for greater results.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 One noteworthy problem I encountered was creating new activities utilizing current equipment and supplies.<\/strong> Initially, I struggled to design compelling exercises within the restrictions of the existing technologies. However, this constraint forced me to think outside the box and experiment with different methods to use the equipment. For example, I devised a STEM-focused exercise that used basic robotics kits to imitate real-world engineering challenges. This not only helped me enhance my problem-solving abilities, but it also challenged me to think imaginatively about how to utilize resources best. Watching students enthusiastically participate in an activity I helped develop was great.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Interacting with community people at public events has also provided important<\/strong>
learning opportunities.<\/strong> At first, I was confused about how to approach people with varying
technical abilities. However, I eventually felt more comfortable offering assistance, which
boosted my communication and customer service abilities. Helping people thoroughly
comprehend hard technical ideas was very enjoyable since it added to their pleasant
experience at the event. This component of my employment has taught me the value of
patience and clear communication while working with various populations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Throughout this internship, I’ve made consistent progress toward meeting my learning<\/strong>
objectives.<\/strong> I have gotten a better grasp of educational technologies, improved my
communication skills, and sharpened my ability to operate in a team. The experience has
allowed me to actively engage in the teaching process, from class design and execution to
feedback-based revisions. It has also made me more aware of the issues that come with
operating educational programs, such as time management, resource allocation, and
addressing the requirements of varied participants.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 To summarize, the first 50 hours of my internship presented me with a plethora of<\/strong><\/span>
practical experience and personal development.<\/strong> I have learned how to deal with the obstacles<\/span>
of teaching, problem-solving, and event coordination in a dynamic, hands-on learning<\/span>
environment. I am excited to utilize these skills as I continue in my career and seek to<\/span>
establish even more unique events that benefit both children and the community at large.<\/span><\/p>\n
