Read this https://dojmt.gov/wp-content/uploads/Glasswasherparts.com_.pdf  sample breach letter “SAMPLE DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION” and describe how two different economics theories and two different social sciences theories relate to the letter.

The sample letter essentially is informing all prior customers that have given financial data, that their data may have been compromised. It gives a few sections where it informs the consumer: what happened, what information was involved, what is being done, and what can the consumer do to be more protected. Two economic theories that relate to the sample breach letter are the rational choice theory and Marxian economic theory. The rational choice theory is when an individual or business make choices in their best interest. In this case, the business decided to have a third-party company operate the site and systems. The intruder was able to gain access through this third-party company and placed malware on their servers. The business decided to use a third-party company to help with maintaining their business using a rational choice. This also applies to the intruder because they made the rational choice to use/invest in the malware presented. The Marxian economic theory is essentially those with power (usually money) exploit those without power (poor individuals) for economic gain. This relates to the sample letter because in a lot of cases the intruders are trying to take advantage of those who may not be aware of the power of cyber technology. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the intruders are richer than the consumers, however, they are more familiar with cyber technology than the individuals they are exploiting. Two social science theories that relate to the letter include reinforcement sensitivity and psychodynamic theory. Reinforcement sensitivity is a theory of motivation where individuals receive pleasure from doing whatever task at hand. This theory is often driven by rewards and goals. In this case, the intruders are trying to break into the company and steal financial information. These intruders have a higher level of reward interest because they are trying to gain access to tons of financial information. Psychodynamic theory suggests that early experiences in ones life influence behavior overtime. This may not essentially be true for this case, but also could very well be true. The intruder could have had friends or family that participated in similar cyber crime which would influence them to do similar things.
