Similar to how an architect designs the foundation of the house and the house itself, engineers do the same thing for cyber security frameworks and programs. Since engineers are essentially creators that create for a living and fix a problem that they have found; in this case fixing the problems that arise in cyberspace or to provide support to stop the ongoing war with cyber criminals. For instance, engineers had to design and assist in the creation of the NIST framework, which helps protect millions of hardware and software devices all over the world. So essentially an engineer for cyber network is the most important role in establishing such necessities since they are the spinal cord that keeps the whole system together, standing, and operational.

What is the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime? How does this overlap relate to the other disciplines discussed in this class?

Because of the growing problem on the internet and at the rate of how many people are causing some sort of issue on the internet or becoming a victim because of it. The criminal justice system is a physical response to physical crimes but has a very little presence on the internet, the ratio being skewed in favor of physical crimes. Although recently there has been a growing presence over the past few years. Since there is no way to cover your tracks on the internet since everything on the web is recorded and archived in some way, shape, or form criminals have a harder time escaping and testifying because of their electronic paper trails. So the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime are growing everyday to the point where internet trolls and hackers are now thinking twice before trying anything. For instance, the guy that leaked the footage of the alpha footage of GTA 6 was arrested and had charges placed on him by Rockstar Games.

How do engineers make cyber networks safer?
