You can make the trip on your own or get a small group together. It is a beautiful space. Plenty of parking available. And the Glass Studio has free glass blowing demos every day by local artists.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/norfolkbotanicalgarden.org\/\">Norfolk Botanical Gardens<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a 155-acre public botanical garden that features over forty themed gardens, including seasonal gardens and a special WOW Children\u2019s Garden.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/thehermitagemuseum.org\/\"><strong>Hermitage Museum &amp; Gardens<\/strong><\/a> (N Shore Rd.) &#8211; The Hermitage features a nationally recognized art collection spanning 5,000 years, contemporary exhibition galleries, the newly renovated Goode Family Visual Arts School, and 12 acres of gardens and grounds that offer art and culture to the community.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.norfolk.gov\/5880\/The-Slover\"><strong>The Slover Library<\/strong><\/a> (E. Plume St.)- Their collections include adult popular fiction and nonfiction, a youth library and learning center, and teen services. The branch offers computers, internet access, interactive displays and a digital media lab.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nauticus.org\/\">Nauticus Museum<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\u00a0in downtown Norfolk is a large maritime museum that covers the environmental and naval history of the Hampton Roads area. Paying a bit more for your entrance ticket grants access to walk around the decommissioned battleship the\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nauticus.org\/battleship-wisconsin\/\">USS Wisconsin.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/life\/culture\/arts\/galleries\"><strong>Baron &amp; Ellin Gordon Art Galleries<\/strong><\/a> (Monarch Way) The Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries exhibit works by nationally and internationally recognized self-taught artists, contemporary artists working in all media, and local and regional artists connected with Old Dominion University. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/planetarium\"><strong>Michael and Kimthanh L\u00ea Planetarium<\/strong><\/a> on ODU\u2019s campus has scheduled showtimes.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/narocinema.com\/\"><strong>Naro Expanded Cinema<\/strong><\/a> (Colley) is an amazing indie movie theater not far from campus in the trendy Ghent area.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eleanorsnfk.com\/\">Eleanor&#8217;s Norfolk<\/a><\/strong> (Boush St.) &#8211; Locally owned feminist bookstore<\/li>\n<li><a style=\"font-size: revert\" href=\"https:\/\/catnipcatcafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Catnip Cat Cafe<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\u00a0is a great place to hang out, drink tea or coffee, play games with friends or read\u2026with about 17 cats to lounge in your lap.
