Information Technologies and the Politics of Mediation

With the rise of technology, the intelligification of the physical/digital world, and this new era of augmentation we are adjusting too we must be careful to limit how it influences the world around us and its limits. With the increasing power of technology and how it can easily invade a person’s privacy the decision on how to limit how easily or how deep the investigations go seem quite simple. If a business releases a product that they believe will improve humanity’s state of living but comes at the cost of their feeling of safety then the consumer and those the product may affect must have input in some form as to what information is shown, how it is shown, and when. Policies and terms & conditions must be put into place that directly outlines how information is used and collected. With the connection of everyday items of the physical world to networks of those of the digital world, or in simpler terms the Internet of Things (IoT), the layers of protections regarding cybersecurity will also have to adapt to prevent groups or individuals from using said networks to perform invasive actions that could disrupt civilization’s daily routines.
