Transitioning from high school to college was a thrilling experience. I was sheltered a lot in high school by my parents. therefore, I never had the chance to explore. I had never been the type to go out parting all the time in high school because my parents would not allow me to venture out. When I went to college I decided to test my limits. I started going out every weekend and participating in risky behavior. I quickly realized that, that lifestyle was not for me. I would be sick every weekend and my grades started spilling which was my real wake up call. In\u00a0 high school, I never learned how to study effectively therefore, when I got to college I was not prepared. I would try to write down everything my professor had on the power point instead of listening to what he or she had to say. Because\u00a0of this I would be missing information and not do as well as I wanted on the exam.\u00a0 to take charge of my transition to college I had to realize that parting was only going to hinder me from getting my degree.
