Hi, I’m Yohannes Teklu! I’m a senior student at Old Dominion University (ODU), currently pursuing my passion for cybersecurity. Originally from Ethiopia, East Africa, I’ve always been driven by a desire to explore, learn, and grow in the tech world.

My Journey

My academic journey started in community college, where I spent two years building a strong foundation in computer science and technology. During this time, I discovered my interest in cybersecurity and began working on earning my CompTIA Security+ certification to deepen my knowledge and develop industry-relevant skills.

While I’m still at the beginning of my professional journey, I’m committed to making an impact in the cybersecurity field by protecting digital assets and ensuring safe online environments.

Why Cybersecurity?

I’m fascinated by the ever-evolving nature of cybersecurity and its critical role in today’s world. The challenge of solving complex problems and staying ahead of emerging threats drives my passion for this field. I believe my determination, adaptability, and eagerness to learn make me a strong candidate for opportunities in this exciting industry.

When I’m Not Studying

When I’m not diving into coursework or preparing for certifications, you can find me playing or watching soccer, spending quality time with my family and friends, and enjoying the little moments that bring joy to everyday life.
