Dr. Glenn WILL be accepting applications for PhD students applying to Old Dominion University’s NEW Clinical Psychology PhD program<\/a> this cycle (Fall 2025) for the 2026-2027 academic year. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

(Note. We are no longer accepting students to the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Dominion University (ODU) has launched a solo Clinical Psychology PhD program. ODU led the administration of the APA-Accredited Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, training doctoral clinical psychologists for more than 43 years. Check out the department at www.odu.edu\/clinicalpsycphd<\/a>. The ODU program will be hosting a series of Open House events to share details about this new program:

1) Empowering Diverse Voices in Clinical Psychology<\/strong>: Virtual Open House Event on Tues, Oct. 7, 6-7pm EST<\/strong>. Register here<\/a>. This event is hosted by students <\/strong>from the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability (IDEA) Committee at the ODU Clinical PhD Program. The purpose of this event is for prospective applicants to gather more information on our program, with a specific focus on our program\u2019s commitment to diversity and social justice. Prospective applicants are invited to ask current students questions about diversity in our training and program culture, as well as questions about the experience of being a student from a diverse background. The event is not intended to be evaluative and attending the event is not necessary to apply to the program. If you have questions about our program but cannot attend at this time, please feel free to email VCPCPDiversity@odu.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is a good fit for the YR\u00b2 Lab?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The YR\u00b2 Lab at Old Dominion University looks for applicants with a strong interest in research<\/em> related to the development, assessment, and prevention of suicide in youth<\/strong>. Because our lab uses a range of research methods, prior experience with a specific research method is not required. However, experience working with youth and families in community or clinical settings is strongly preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can students meet with members of the lab during the admissions cycle? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, no. Dr. Glenn and lab members are unable to meet with interested students individually during the current admissions cycle (i.e., before official interview offers are extended). This is for equity reasons because it is not possible to meet with each student who is applying to our program. However, we do our best to keep the lab website updated with our current research directions, grants, and publications. Please see the Research section<\/a> of the website to learn more about the YR\u00b2 Lab\u2019s ongoing research and current grants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
