Society, in general, has also consumed so much technology and technology use that we would not know how to exist without it. There are many advantages of computers and they have made the world runs more efficiently. Unfortunately, there are also disadvantages to having computers as well.

Computers have made a historical impact on the education system. Back then you had to go to the library, write everything on paper, and save things in a binder, which over time was not really cost-efficient. I mean every single year buying binder after binder and several packs of paper could be ridiculous. Now with computers, we have e-books, images, audio messages and books, word documents for papers and so. much more. The use of computers expanded the number of resources that we all had limited access to for a very long time. Computers also allowed for teleworking and telelearning so students/adults who worked full-time.

Another way that computers made the world a little more efficient was the multiple ways of communication. Computers give us many different text communication options such as iMessage, GroupMe, Slack, teams, etc as well as many audio communications beyond a phone call such as Facetime, Skype, and newly, Zoom. Do many people remember having to write a letter for every little message you had for someone and how long it would take for things to get accomplished. Now we have the ability to instant message and call for any little inconvenience we may have. We also have social media platforms. Platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter allow you to connect with your friends and family in a more informal and personal way. you’re are able to share pictures and videos with each other, which is good if you do not live close to your friends and family.

While all of this sounds fun, nice, and efficient, there are disadvantages to the advancement in technology. Because we are all online, we all have what is called a digital footprint. This means we have left some sort of evidence on whatever websites we visit. This allows cybercriminals to potentially hack us and steal our information. This means that will it is really fun to use technology, we have to be very careful about what information we choose to put online.

Describe three ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe.
