Introduction
● Cybersecurity analyst plans, implements, upgrades and monitors security measures to
protect computer networks and information
● Without being able to upgrade and continue to develop information safeguarding against
threats, everything would be at risk of being hacked and taken over by cybersecurity
hackers.
● This paper will dive into cybersecurity analyst/engineers and talk about the social science
research and their relations together.
Social science principles
Relation to Career: Cybersecurity as we know it, is just humans who create things and or
do things/actions so everything is correlated. You can definitely use psychology and
sociology to determine how things are related or the relativity between them. So the actions
may be committed because of desires and or motivations like money, or revenge, or
wanting a sense of longing for something. The motivations and or reasons could be endless
but often are able to be categorized and labeled. Usually in different schools of psychology
which makes up the sociologies, but usually fall in either social and or cultural, cognitive,
behaviorism, psychodynamic, functionalism, or structuralism which are all ways to identify
structures of experiences.
● The principles are integrated with some of the previous that I just named to try to mitigate
risk by analyzing human and cultural behaviors. Understanding the how and reasoning is
one of the biggest parts as well as stopping them, but understanding them can help lead to
stopping them and lead to everything and the protection of things to be safer and more
secure.
● Professionals may spread the awareness of concept and security of social science by
using social influence and media to spread the awareness, may be using simulated
walkthroughs of how information or data can be taken or stolen, ads in television and or
other media or making insightful videos to spread awareness. For example, making
appearances in shows like doctor phil, and or making movies to show how easy it is to
fall victim to these things.
Application of Key Concepts
Relation to Career: Identify key concepts from the class
● While having a career as a cybersecurity analyst/engineer, you should have certain skills
or principles that will help you and you will use throughout your career. These include
studying information in a value free manner, obtaining the knowledge so that you can use
it to keep people/things this could be known as objectivity. Keeping explanation levels
simple when giving reports and or explaining how to do your job maybe in discussions
with other colleagues or whenever the time may call parsimony. Adhering to ethical
standards and protecting the rights of whatever data and or information you may come
across, so doing your job the right way and legally ensuring the security and protection
correctly this is known as ethical neutrality. Also, a way to show these principles in your
work is in reports or even just spreading the information and things to look for and what
to do or not to do as someone in that field. Being that you are working in that career as a
professional, you should have ways in which you can give advice to others as well to help
them secure their information and other things of those natures.
Marginalization
● Relation to Career : Explore how cybersecurity affects marginalized groups, noting
issues such as unequal access to technology, increased targeting in breaches, or
surveillance concerns.
● Discuss the profession’s efforts to address these challenges, such as initiatives to diversify
the field or policies aimed at equitable digital protection.
Career Connection to Society
● Relation to Career : Without protection from social cybersecurity threats, financial
systems, healthcare systems, global internet systems, even oil and disruptions would be
more frequent and damaging. There would be no guaranteed protection against hackers
that would like to do harm and cause mischief for their own personal gain or destruction
of others. Things like gas prices, healthcare prices, banking information, every structure
as we know it, information from social media, taking the privacy of millions and billions
of people away to sell for information could all be done, however since there are
protections from the professionals and cybersecurity analysts and engineers that create
ways for these protections to be possible, the risks are still there but lowered and boost
security.
● Public policies including executive orders, and sector-specific regulations are all in place
to try and protect data and information of the general public. For example, some
information may be censored or not accessible if it could pose a threat and or disrupt
society. Increasing the multi-factor authentication steps and identity management,
creating tension between maintaining security, protecting individual privacy and ensuring
digital equity across the world.

profession.

analyst job and role, and importance, as long as different experiences neede for
the job and protocols that would definitely be helpful for anyone especially those
looking for a career in this area.

The second Journal
article talks about how artificial intelligence and the aid of helping in the role of
cybersecurity analysts and two studies concerning the identification of
vulnerabilities in android applications, and analysts of security logs. As well as
showing how LLM chatbots help security analysts in their work with the
limitations and security concerns labeled.

The third and last article talks about errors for Intrusion Detection Systems
and how human errors take place in the field, and how different scenarios and
their implications have effects. The article also provides simulations and
evidences with their datasets and methods to talk about different computational
agent strategies in attacking and the defense of cybersecurity threats. With
different agents and predictions for attackers, it shows the relationship between
theories of people and how their interactions in the cyber realm and how different
models of human cognition can automatically be turned into either defender or
hacker preferences with different models and simulations. As well as
network/software vulnerabilities and decision making with human learning to
improve the overall long-term network safety and security.
