About Me

My name is Zoë Fotopoulos. I am a transfer student to ODU from Tidewater’s local community college (TCC). I am a nursing major with plans to apply to ODU’s nursing program for Fall 2023!

Some goals of mine are to graduate from ODU with a BSN. Then, I would like to apply for a job at one of the local hospitals to begin working and gain experience. Later down the line, I would love to apply to be a travel nurse! I have always wanted to see more of the country as I have not traveled much, so I think that becoming a travel nurse would be a great way to gain more experience and see some great sites along the way.

I have always been interested in learning the Spanish language. Beginning my eighth-grade year of middle school, through high school, I took four years of Spanish and two years of Latin. I felt like I had learned a lot, but I wanted to learn even more and become fluent in Spanish, one day. I took one Spanish class at TCC and this is my second college Spanish course. My love for the language has grown so much, thanks to the amazing professors I have met in college. I plan on adding a minor in Spanish to my college degree. I could not be more excited to continue working toward being bilingual.

Not only will I have the self-satisfaction of learning a second language, but I will be able to apply my knowledge of this second language to my daily life! When working in a healthcare setting I will be able to assist and communicate with more patients which will allow me to provide the best care possible.
