The progressive development of technology has raised cybersecurity awareness throughout the world. Nations across the world face significant cybersecurity risks, however, the severity of these risks may differ from each country. Compared to the United States, the Philippines has a less developed technological infrastructure and lower levels of cybersecurity awareness among its people. The demand for cybersecurity specialists has increased in the United States and the Philippines due to the increase in technological advances. The United States’ highly developed technology infrastructure and the vast quantity of valuable assets, such as vital infrastructure, financial institutions, and sensitive government agencies, make it a prime target for cyberattacks. Examples of cyberattacks include hacking, data breaches, and the use of malware for financial gain. The United States plays a significant role in the global economy and has a plethora of international relationships, making it a target for cyberattacks. The country’s large and complex infrastructure makes it difficult to protect against cyber threats. In the Philippines, the major cybersecurity risks include cybercrime such as identity theft and cyber-attacks on organizations. The rapidly growing digital economy of the Philippines and the increased usage of social media has made it an appealing target for cybercriminals to steal personal information and financial data. Due to the lack of cybersecurity infrastructure and inadequate resources, the Philippines is more vulnerable to cyberattacks. The Philippines created The National Cybersecurity Plan to ensure the security of infrastructures for continuous operation by institutionalizing information security and risk assessments.  “The U.S. Trade and Development Agency hosted a group of Philippine government officials on a reverse mission to study cybersecurity in the United States. The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines has a Joint Cybersecurity Working Group of government officials and U.S. cyber firms meeting monthly to discuss and address cyber issues” (Philippine Cybersecurity Market). With the help of the United States, the Philippines are taking the right steps to defend against cybersecurity threats.
