About Me

Hello ! My name is Essence Robinson, and I am currently completing my internship as part of my academic program .My professional interests include healthcare administration, human resources, organizational leadership, and healthcare policy. Through this internship experience, I am gaining practical exposure to healthcare consulting, quality management, compliance, and project management practices while applying concepts learned throughout my coursework. This opportunity is helping me develop a deeper understanding of how consulting organizations support healthcare systems, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

ARDX

I am completing my internship remotely with ARDX, a management and technology consulting firm headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia. ARDX is an employee-owned organization that provides consulting services in healthcare management, quality improvement, compliance, technology solutions, strategic planning, and business operations. The company was founded in 2006 by Angela D. Reddix and has grown into a nationally recognized consulting firm that serves federal agencies, state governments, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, and private-sector clients.

The mission of ARDX is to improve the lives of the nation’s population through the delivery of superior services that support client missions. The organization’s vision is to empower clients through innovative, data-driven solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and outcomes. ARDX operates according to core values that emphasize integrity, innovation, integration, individuality, and inspiration. These values are reflected in the organization’s commitment to providing high-quality consulting services and helping clients address complex healthcare and operational challenges.

Because my internship is being conducted remotely, I participate in virtual meetings, project discussions, and collaborative activities that provide insight into the day-to-day operations of a healthcare consulting firm. The remote format has allowed me to observe how teams effectively communicate, manage projects, maintain compliance standards, and support clients across multiple locations.

Preceptor Background

My preceptor is Nedra L. Commodore, Vice President of Quality and Compliance at ARDX. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing quality assurance initiatives, compliance programs, organizational performance standards, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the company. Ms. Commodore has been with ARDX since 2010 and possesses extensive experience in healthcare advocacy, quality management, consumer protection, and project oversight. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and CMMI Associate.

Throughout my internship, Ms. Commodore provides guidance and mentorship while helping me better understand quality management systems, regulatory compliance requirements, project management methodologies, and organizational leadership. Working under her supervision has given me valuable exposure to the processes and standards that support operational excellence within the healthcare consulting industry.
