Tyler Royster

Cybersecurity Professional

Thank you for visiting my ePortfolio! On this website you will learn about a mixture of who I am as well as some of my projects and assignments that I have done throughout my whole college career! It is my goal to showcase the skills I have obtained or evolved throughout my college experience and show how my skills and artifacts all focus in obtaining a cybersecurity position.

About Me

Hello!!! My name is Tyler Royster, and I am an aspiring cybersecurity professional currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Old Dominion University, where I maintain a 3.65 GPA and serve in multiple leadership roles on campus. With hands on experience in Linux systems, Windows environments, and a wide range of Microsoft applications, I’m passionate about protecting digital systems, solving problems creatively, and continuing to grow in the IT and cybersecurity fields. I plan to earn my Security+ certification by February 2026 to further strengthen my technical foundation.

Beyond academics, I am deeply involved in student leadership and community organizations. I proudly serve as the President of the Omicron Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and I am active in the Student Government Association, Student Activities Council, Latin Student Alliance, and NAACP. Finally I am Old Dominions Homecoming King! These roles have allowed me to develop strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills while making a positive impact on campus.

Professionally, I’ve gained valuable experience through customer-focused roles and my ongoing position as a Resident Assistant at Old Dominion University. In all my work, I prioritize efficiency, organization, and delivering meaningful support whether assisting residents, training new employees, or providing excellent service in fast-paced hospitality environments.

I am driven, hardworking, and always eager to learn. My goal is to grow within the fields of IT and cybersecurity, using my technical skills and leadership experience to help build safer, more secure community and digital environments.
