Erich Downing
Cybersecurity Student | IT Support Technician
Welcome to my ePortfolio.
My name is Erich Downing, and I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Old Dominion University while working as an IT Support Technician. I enjoy working with technology and helping people solve technical problems, and my goal is to continue building a career in cybersecurity and IT support.
Right now, I work in a remote Tier 1 help desk role, where I assist students, faculty, and staff with a variety of technical issues. My daily work includes troubleshooting Windows systems, resolving login and account access problems, helping users with password resets and multi-factor authentication, and supporting devices like laptops, printers, and classroom technology. This experience has helped me develop strong technical troubleshooting skills while also learning how important communication and customer service are in IT. Erich-Downing-IT Support Specia…
Through my studies and hands-on experience, I have been developing skills in Windows troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, user account security, and technical support processes. I’m also continuing to expand my knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices to better understand how organizations protect their systems and data. Erich-Downing-IT Support Specia…
