My name is Hans Peterson, and I am a senior student majoring in cybersecurity at Old Dominion University and will graduate in May 2026. I discovered cybersecurity back in high school, and, even now, I am still interested in it.
I have a few industrial certifications under my belt:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Networking+
- MTA: Security Fundamentals – Certified 2021
- MTA: Networking Fundamentals – Certified 2021
- MOS: Microsoft Access Expert (Office 2019)
After graduation, I plan on enlisting in the Army Reserves to return the service my country gave me. Outside of the DoD, I am focused on a career related to either digital forensics or network administration. Specifically, in digital forensics, my aim is to acquire the certifications/training required for analysts; then, as an analyst, I’ll be heavily involved with our justice system, which may mean examining computer evidence and testifying as an expert witness. It may be arduous, but it is achievable, as I will grow over time. Justice is not perfect, but that does not mean it cannot be strengthened.
I currently have a resume and a page dedicated to my skills. Additionally, I have two essays: the Personal Narrative Essay and the Reflective Essay.
