This particular assignment is titled “6.4 Case Analysis on Cyberconflict.” In short, this case analysis is centered around a particularly disturbing idea that non-kinetic warfare, a form of warfare that includes aspects such as information warfare and cyber warfare, can escalate to kinetic, traditional warfare. What is seen as a non-violent war can shift to a violent war due to the distinct lack of regulations related to cyberwarfare. In this analysis, I argued that cyberwarfare actions, even non-violent ones, could not be justified, as they can lead to more violent actions.
Completing this work sample showcases how I am able to effectively argue for my position by using the concepts from authors’ Boylan and Taddeo and tying them into the overarching discussion of cyberconflict. Additionally, I used Kant’s deontology, a specific ethical tool, to justify my argument. Over all, I am able to simplify the concepts from other articles to support my argument.
This particular assignment is titled “1.1 Case Study on Privacy.” This was one of the first assignments that was also tied to a class discussion. Here, I argued that people, even if they acted “immorally,” still deserved privacy. As long as these immoral actions were not harmful, we have no right to invade their privacy and expose their immoral actions. Though, at the end of this semester, my take has gained nuance.
Completing this work sample showcases how I am able to approach a rather divisive topic and argue for what I believe is right without using ethical tools for my reasoning. This assignment mainly serves as the baseline to check my growth. As for my professional development, I can argue without resorting to logical fallacies or insults.
