My name is Madison Baughman and I am an aspiring cybersecurity professional. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia before moving to Norfolk to pursue my degree. In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, as well as quality time with friends and family.

My Experience

My experience in the tech and cybersecurity fields began in high school where I took introductory courses in programming as well as cybersecurity. Since then I have been pursing a bachelors degree in Cybersecurity at Old Dominion University while gaining hands-on experience through internships with COVA CCI and Wise Technical Innovations.

My Hobbies

Since beginning my journey at Old Dominion University in 2023, I have been a member of the Monarch Marching Band Colorguard. Before that, I spun two years in high school winning national championships. Colorguard remains a fun outlet for me, a hobby that keeps me active and part of an organization that encourages me to strive for excellence. I am grateful to be a Colorguard Section Leader for the 2026 season.

My Goals

My short term goals are the completion of my bachelors degree in Cybersecurity with a minor in Cybercrime and professional certificates in Digital Forensics and Risk Management. Following that accomplishment, I will be completing my Masters degree in Cybersecurity a few months later. Long term, I am pursing the Certified CMMC Professional certification and intend to find employment in that field. Following CCP certification, I will be completing the Security + and CCA certifications along with completing my degrees.
