My name is Aquita Padaro, and I am a freshman at Old Dominion University. I am originally from a small country in West Africa named Togo. I moved to the United States when I was eleven years old because my father wanted me to attend school here. Since then, I’ve lived in Virginia Beach, VA. I choose Old Dominion University because it was close to home, and I liked the overall vibe of the University. I was originally majoring in Nursing, but I switched to Public Health because I realized nursing not the right path for my career choice. Being a Public Health major allows me take classes that are directly related to the ones I have to take to be a pharmacist later on in life. People working in the public health field have to find ways to promote healthy habits in a specific community. I need to have good writing skills to persuade the local or state government to take my side on a particular health proposal or research findings.
