My name is Koboyo Josephine Padaro, but I prefer to be referred to as Josephine Padaro. I am 17 years old and am currently a freshman student at ODU majoring in Nursing. I am originally born in a country in Africa named Togo in the city of Lomé. I moved to the US in July 2011 when I was nine years old, to Virginia Beach, which I consider my home now. If you look at my memoir, it will explain my journey in more details. I started school at a very early age, so I graduated from high school at the age of 16. Even though I have always viewed my early start to life in general in a negative way, I am very fortunate to get to have the same opportunity as my other, older peers. My goal at ODU is to not only get into the Nursing program, but to truly experience and make the best of every moment, class, opportunities, success, and even failures, and learn from them; I also hope to get more involved in the future, as I am a reserved person. This semester I have learned who I am as a writer, and I hope to accomplish the same in my future English courses and use those skills to excel in other classes.
