About Me

Greetings and salutations! My name is Allie Peters and I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I have been passionate about working with people my whole life and spent a great deal of it in the service industry. After being exposed to so many different personalities and unique personal situations, I decided to take the plunge and pursue my passion with educational training. I hope to complete my bachelor’s and pursue my master’s degree at ODU in the certified CACREP program. Ideally I aspire to become a fully licensed clinical social worker and work as a couples/marriage/family counselor. I took social psychology because I am interested in understanding the interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships between people. I feel as though the foundation of our being comes directly from our interactions with those around us, so this class will help to understand and navigate situations in my (hopefully!) future career. I also have learned so far in my education that I am more interested in areas of psychology that seemed “too scary” to handle before such as abnormal psychology and dealing with substance abuse or addiction. I am really enjoying exploring all the different facets of psychology and cannot wait to further my psychology background through my time at ODU.
