Hola! My name is Jonathan Peverall, but I usually go by Jon. I am an Electricians Technician Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. I was born in Los Angeles, but I grew up in Tampa, FL.
I began my Navy career in 2003, when I reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes at the age of 17. Throughout my professional career, I have had a variety of experiences resulting in the accumulation of a wide array of technical, mechanical, and leadership skills. I went from basic technician to subject matter expert, taught and developed curriculum earning my Master Training Specialist, and had the opportunity to lead dozens of Sailors through a variety of challenging evolutions, all while being lucky enough to see a significant portion of the world, and experience a multitude of different cultures.
I have a love of the outdoors and the adventurous. I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, or anything else that is exciting. I also have a passion for aviation, and earned my private pilot’s license during a tour in Hawaii. During that time I also finished an Associate Degree in Applied Science, with a focus in Aviation Support. I am married and have three children. My wife’s name is Mary, and my kid’s names are Abigail, John and Eoin.
I studied a little Spanish and French language in my early education, and have continued to have an interest in learning foreign language throughout the years. Much of my wife’s extended family are fluent native Spanish speakers, and having spent a great deal of time in the southern California area, it is very easy to see the value in becoming multi-lingual. My major is in Physics and Electrical Engineering, but after graduation, I plan to continue my study of Spanish language and culture with the ultimate goal of becoming fluent in the future. This website is an e-portfolio of the coursework I completed during my studies of Spanish in Old Dominion University.
