About Sheyenne!
Hello! My name is Sheyenne Nichols and a rising senior at ODU. I am majoring in Health Services Admin and minoring in Management. I have been working in healthcare for about 2 years and have a true passion for it.
Internship Site
I will be interning at Sentara Norfolk General in the admissions department. It is a large hospital with 563 beds that is known for it’s superb care in trauma cases and it’s heart hospital.
Location
Sentara Norfolk General is in the heart of Norfolk on Gresham Drive, on the way to downtown Norfolk. It is an Inpatient hospital and serves as an academic hospital as well.
History of Sentara
Sentara’s mission statement is “We improve health everyday”. Its goal as a company is to value every patient and ensure that everyone is treated with quality care. Sentara pledges to always keep patients safe and ensure that they are heard and confident in their care.
Preceptor
My preceptor is Tess Bilyeu, MSN, RN, NPD-BC. She ensures patient experience, clinical support, improving disease specific mortality, and improving employee engagement.
