Three professional goals

Goal #1

My first goal is ensuring patient experience. A patient’s experience during their stay at a hospital is one of the most critical factors of healthcare. I hope to learn how to listen to patient’s concerns and compliments in a way that makes them feel heard and confident. By listening to reviews from actual patients I will be able to come up with future protocols that better adhere to the needs of patients. Every patient’s experience will be different and I hope to be able to recognize similarities so that major problems are always addressed.

Goal #2

My second goal is improving employee engagement. As someone who has worked in bedside healthcare for two years, employee burnout is a major issue. Burnout effects someone’s mood which in turn may effect the comfort of the patient. By learning ways that will effectively reduce burnout and ensure employees are happy to be at work, follow regulations, and complete quality care I will be able to provide an experience that benefits all parties. Employees should be able to work together and voice their opinions to management without feeling burdened.

Goal #3

My third goal is to learn how to effectively manage a healthcare facility. I hope to pick up on as many administrative skills as possible that will be able to carry over with me in all managerial healthcare settings. There are many aspects to Healthcare Admin, and it can be stressful to think about when learning material in an academic setting. By getting hands-on experience I hope to learn ways to reduce stress while also being effective in my work. Learning what it truly takes to provide quality care is my biggest goal.
