Hi, I am Tiffany Molinick and I will be graduating with a Master of Public Health from Old Dominion University in May 2022. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology. Furthermore, I am a credentialed Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). This portfolio highlights some of my graduate coursework and competencies from the graduate program.

But first, let me explain my journey to a career in Public Health…

Shortly after I received my undergraduate degree, I worked as a field ecologist for a private consulting firm. During that time, I observed firsthand how much anthropogenic behaviors impact our environment. I witnessed the disruption of ecosystems as a result of long-wall mining, and I saw how fracking affected landowners’ mental health as gas leeched into their water sources. After a few years in the field, I returned to academics, enrolling in a clinical laboratory science program. Since finishing the program in 2013, I have worked in clinical laboratories as a generalist, microbiology technician, and currently, as a flow cytometry technologist. While working in patient care, I found myself yearning for a career that could integrate both environmental and human health. I studied One Health at Auburn University, taking courses in Public Health and Disease Ecology, which led me to pursue an MPH at Old Dominion University
