Professional Presentations & Papers

One this page I have displayed several papers and presentations I have completed that display inter-professional collaboration and application of knowledge and skills gained throughout the MPH program.

In the first semester, I completed two group projects.

  1. I was a part of an inter-professional team consisting of students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Nursing programs. We all contributed to the content for an informative resource brochure on Type 1 Diabetes that would be easy to understand for a patient or family member of a patient with Type 1 Diabetes. The brochure was presented to the program director in November 2020.
  2. I was part of an MPH student only team where we looked at the behavior of vaping in adolescents and discussed the prevalence of the behavior and health outcomes before suggesting an intervention. The Executive Summary was presented to the program director in December 2020.

The following links will take you to the Type 1 Diabetes brochure and Effects of Vaping Executive Summary:

In December 2020, I completed a Data Analysis Project for Statistical Reasoning in Public Health. I used SAS Studio and data from the Framingham Heart Study to investigate the relationship between Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes Mellitus. The link below will take you to my findings:

In my second semester, I was a member of another inter-professional team. I collaborated with dental hygiene students to find a solution to support a medically underserved community using an ethically resourced mobile health clinic. As a team, we suggested creative ways to provide care and encourage continued at-home preventative care. In April 2021, my team presented the following executive summary to the program directors of the MPH and the dental hygiene programs:

In December 2021, I completed a paper and oral presentation in which I evaluated the cafeteria food system at my workplace and provided a creative way to implement a more sustainable food system that would benefit employees, visitors, and the environment. I have provided the link to my paper below:
