My name is Talor Stone and I’m a PhD student in the Department of International Studies. My research focuses on the impacts of climate change on Greenland’s indigenous people and I’ll be starting my dissertation in 2022. As a part of the PhD program, I also have learned a foreign language – Spanish.
In addition to being a full-time student, I also work as a professional landscape photographer and this job allows me to travel extensively both within the United States and the world. I’ve spent much of my international travel in the Arctic or in Latin American countries.
My professional goal is to continue to combine my two fields to apply a research-oriented approach to my photography. In the past several years, my research has informed the art that I make and my art has become a tool for exploring my research themes. I’d like to see these two spheres of my world continue to grow together to form a unique professional career path.
