Someone once said, “If I could help someone along the way then I know that my living is not in vain”. My name is Elnora Turner and I have been married for 41 years to Cornell L. Turner Sr. I have two beautiful children: Cornell Jr. and Canisha Cierra Turner. I have four wonderful grandchildren Makayla, Tyson, Camryn, and Cori Lynn.
I love working with people. I am a CNA at Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waverly, Va. I have been employed there for 35 years. Along with that, I am also a Paraprofessional at Sussex Central High School. I have been there for 25 years.
I am currently majoring in psychology. I love my major because once I complete my psychology course at ODU with my bachelor’s degree, I plan on becoming a counselor at my school. I am excited about taking this course because it will provide me with the tools, I need to be successful in this future role. I am so excited to get started!
My current professions in healthcare and education allude to my love for both generations. I see the younger generation coming to start their life in grade school, and the older generation who have lived their life to the fullest in the assisted living facility. Both give my life a deeper meaning and make me excited to become a counselor. I love people and look forward to making a huge impact on everyone I meet.
