1. How should we approach the development of cyber-policy and -infrastructure given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge?

In order to approach the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure, we must first understand what is trying to destroy it in the first place. Cybercrime is when a criminal activity is carried out on the internet and through the use of technology. The people who are stopping cyber attackers are people who work in the criminal justice field. Cybercrimes that we have discussed include advanced persistent threats (or APT’s), inside attack, password attacks, and malware just to name a few. These types of threats will be broken down by someone in the criminal justice field in order to catch the criminal. Whether the crime is happening to a single person or an entire company someone in the criminal justice field will have the chance of catching the criminal. The field of criminal justice exists because of the crimes that are happening all around us.

2. How does cyber technology impact interactions between offenders and victims?

Cyber technology impacts interaction between offenders and victims on a higher basis than we can imagine. Through multiple sources of outreach, it’s somewhat impossible to stop someone from reaching out and communicating with a victim. By creating fake profiles, stealing data and using it against the victim. It’s scary to think and understand that there is no true way of stopping someone who wants to commit a crime through the cyber space. Understanding that through multiple sources spread out over the internet, we sometimes think that this will never happen to me or wow that crazy but over all it can happen to anyone and you will never know it until its too late. We must all do our part to protect ourselves by making sure our privacy settings are in place and to not allow any and everyone to follow or communicate with us via the internet.
