Skills

I am pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at Old Dominion University, with a focus on networking and systems security. Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats such as unauthorized access, attacks, and data breaches. As technology continues to evolve, the need for skilled cybersecurity professionals has become increasingly important across all industries.

Through my coursework, I have gained experience in areas such as Python programming, Linux and Windows systems, and foundational cybersecurity concepts. These courses have helped me understand how vulnerabilities exist within systems and how attackers exploit them, as well as how to defend against these threats using secure practices.

One of my key interests within cybersecurity is network security. I am particularly interested in how data travels across networks, how attacks like packet sniffing or denial-of-service occur, and how to design secure infrastructures to prevent them. I am also interested in system administration and plan to further develop my skills in both Linux and Windows environments.

In addition to technical knowledge, my studies have strengthened my problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Cybersecurity requires constant learning and adaptation, and I am committed to staying up to date with new technologies and emerging threats.

My long-term goal is to work in the cybersecurity field focusing on network defense and infrastructure protection, helping organizations maintain secure and resilient systems.
