Maximize promotion of HIPs through formal collaborative partnerships with CHIP

Model best practices.

  • Develop annual charge for C-HIP-C
  • Develop criteria for what defines a HIP at ODU (agreed upon outcomes, HIP taxonomies)
  • Design pedagogical formula for each HIP (“So you want to do a learning community…”)
  • Standardize assessment (programmatic/iterative)
  • Involve partners in LeADERS Assessment

Ensure equity of access to HIPs for all students

Identify gaps in experience for various populations in connection to each HIP.

  • Collaborate to develop intervention plans for each HIP
  • Map faculty involved by discipline and other factors
  • Purposefully cultivate and showcase faculty and students from under-represented populations
  • Gain support for the development of a comprehensive HIP assessment plan to include a scaling up readiness
