One advantage of having a VPN is knowing that your connection is safe and that you are protected while surfing the web. Another benefit of having a VPN is having a way to access censored content like Netflix or Hulu. Another advantage of having one is that a VPN saves you money because it masks your IP address while other software could cost hundreds of dollars. Since VPN could be as simple as downloading it on your phone it allows for you to always stay protected even on the go. Finally, VPN allows you to get pass geolocation restrictions. 

A disadvantage of having a VPN is that you could potentially lose connection while online. Another disadvantage is that your connection could be slower due to the setup. A VPN could also be confusing for some people to set up and manage. Another disadvantage is that a VPN could result in legal issues like lawsuits depending on what you’re using it for. Finally, a VPN could have hidden costs to have all the protection to keep you fully safe.

When looking at the advantages and disadvantages I see a clear cut winner in all of this. I believe that a VPN has better advantages than disadvantages. Especially in the world we live in where 90% of things are online, having the extra protection never hurts. While some VPNs may cost money there are some good VPNs that offer good protection.
