Quality Engineer at STS Aerospace, where I bridge the gap between quality assurance, engineering intent, and production realities. My work centers on aligning product conformance, compliance, cost awareness, and flow so that our value streams operate with clarity, consistency, and technical rigor.
I support cross-functional teams, help improve processes and lead my value stream’s high performance production team that specializes in rigid tubing while staying focused on quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations (RCCA, 8D)
- Create and review FAIRs to ensure compliance with AS9102 and customer requirements
- Respond to customer quality concerns and manage escapes
- Perform contract review and ensure flow down of quality requirements to internal teams
- Update quality procedures and inspection plans to align with AS9100 and AS13100 requirements
- Train team members on inspection and quality system requirements
- Conduct internal audits and support improvement activities
- Lead the value stream’s high performance production team
- Review and disposition of non-conforming material in support of the quality clinic
- Analyze and report quality KPIs including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM)
- Work within the quality clinic along with manufacturing Engineering, planning, management, and technicians to ensure quality of products and processes.
- Lead team meetings with various internal departments, external suppliers, and customers to improve relationships and ensure quality of our products.
- Conduct quality reviews of internal design changes, tooling, and processes.
- Conduct quality contract reviews
- Review internal and external specifications to ensure compliance.
Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR)
STS Aerospace – May 2021 to September 2022
I served as a Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR), reviewing and approving product on behalf of major aerospace OEMs. This role strengthened my understanding of customer expectations, compliance requirements, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Created and reviewed FAIRs for internal and supplier submissions.
- Held multiple customer delegations including Pratt & Whitney, GE, Collins Aerospace, Goodrich, and GKN Sweden.
- Prime DSQR for Aerojet Rocketdyne, Lockheed Martin, and United Launch Alliance and managing the 3rd party customer source requirements with the customer representatives.
- Reviewed customer requirements, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Supported inspection teams with technical interpretation and requirement clarification.
- Released product on behalf of customers through delegated authority.
- Supported onsite source inspections with various customers.

I began my aerospace career in inspection, developing the foundation for my technical accuracy, blueprint interpretation, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
