Title: A Grounded Analysis of Experts’ Decision-Making During Security Assessments.
Describe how the topic relates to the principles of the social sciences?
This article investigates the potential correlation between decision-making by
cybersecurity employees and the subsequent vulnerabilities that may arise. The study is highly
influenced by the concepts of the social sciences. One of the most apparent aspects pertains to its
connection with relativism (Hibshi et al., 2016). This study is connected to the concept of
relativism since it investigates the potential relationships between various phenomena and
presents empirical evidence to support these relationships. Objectivity is a crucial aspect of
research, as it entails the researchers’ systematic collection and analysis of information without
any inherent prejudice (Hibshi et al., 2016). The concept of parsimony is also relevant in this
context since it entails elucidating the principles and methodologies in a comprehensible manner,
while also offering precise definitions and explanations. Moreover, the article is empirical as it
just focuses on observable data that individuals have personally encountered (Hibshi et al.,
2016). Furthermore, it maintains ethical neutrality by avoiding any potential ethical concerns and
being objective.
Study’s research questions or hypotheses
The article provides the concept of determinism by illustrating the impact of employee
behaviors on cybersecurity. The application of scientific principles facilitates the examination of
the research question into the potential impact of behavior on outcomes. The hypothesis posits a
correlation between employees’ decision-making and behavior and the occurrence of missing
vulnerabilities (Hibshi et al., 2016).

To conduct the research, the researchers administered a survey to cybersecurity
specialists, whereby they inquired about the methodologies and rationales underlying their
actions.

certain keywords were identified alongside stimuli. The results were generated by drawing
inferences from the analysis. The analysis and subsequent findings demonstrated that
how personnel made decisions and executed their tasks had a direct influence on the level of

can become cyber victims, highlighting the involvement of victimization for a similar purpose
(Hibshi et al., 2016). Determinism is particularly relevant in cases when there is a connection
between past actions and events that influence a future result (Hibshi et al., 2016). For
instance, an employee who acquires the skill of conducting assessments might have an impact on
the result.
How the topic relates to the challenges, concerns and contributions of marginalized groups
The article focuses on the specific obstacles that marginalized communities encounter in
the field of cybersecurity. The cyber behavior of marginalized people might be influenced by
their limited access to resources and knowledge (Hibshi et al., 2016). The article examines the
association between behavior and vulnerability, hence eliciting apprehension among
marginalized communities (Hibshi et al., 2016). Another issue that arises is the cultural
marginalization of marginalized communities, resulting in their limited access to up-to-date and
effective methodologies.
The overall contributions of the studies to society
In conclusion, this article makes a valuable contribution to society by elucidating the
efficacy of various behavioral patterns, hence fostering advancements in the field of
cybersecurity. Additionally, it elucidates the most effective approaches for conducting
vulnerability checks, thereby contributing to the enhancement of cybersecurity in society.
