As we come to an end to this class, I just wanted to reflect on how much cell biology has helped me connect a lot of concepts to my interests in biomedical science and dentistry. One thing that really stood out to me was learning about cell signaling and membrane transport because it made me realize how much communication and balance is constantly happening inside the body at such a small level.
Before this class, I felt like I was learning a lot of information separately, but now I can actually understand and put the puzzle pieces together to see why certain treatments, medications, and diseases affect the body the way they do. It also helped me connect topics from other science courses, especially when learning about body systems and disease processes.
Overall, this course has definitely helped me think more critically and understand biology in a deeper way. Although this may be the end of cell biology, it’s only the beginning of a stronger foundation for my future in biomedical science and eventually dentistry.
