Big Five Personality Test
I love learning about personality types, and I love that these psychology classes have given me the opportunity to explore my own personality in different contexts. Unsurprisingly, when I took the Big Five Personality test, I scored the highest on negative emotion, or neuroticism. I have always known this about myself, I just hadn’t had a name for it until recently. Neuroticism has some negative stigmas associated with it, and this is not without cause. I worry about a lot of small things. I am often anxious. When things go wrong, it usually throws me for a loop. There have been countless times in the past few years where I am stressed out about school. In times like these, I need total control in what’s happening in my life. Unfortunately, nobody has total control. Luckily, I have gotten pretty skilled at dealing with these negative reactions. And I am also not as crazy as I’ve made myself out to be in regards to emotion. I very rarely express this emotion, it is more internalized. But my worrying attitude does not always create problems. Especially when paired with my second-highest results, conscientiousness, it means I am very dependable. I rarely let anybody down, and I am worried about disappointing my classmates, family, or coworkers. Because of this, I pay attention to small details and I always get my work done thoroughly and quickly. This combination of neuroticism and conscientiousness lends itself to all aspects of my life. My emotions are a big part of my life, and even though they can, and have, gotten in the way, they give me a unique way of living life.
