Designing a strong network means finding the right balance between function and simplicity. My coursework helped me understand how to structure systems that run smoothly and securely.
Artifact 1: Maury High School Network Design (IT315)
A wired network designed for Maury High School, including outlet placement, cabling, switches, patch panels, and budgeting for all materials and equipment. The project also included a firewall and VLANs to separate staff and student traffic, creating a secure, efficient, and cost-conscious network.
Artifact 2: Home Network Setup (IT315)
A home network designed with a modem, router, and connected devices including a computer, TV, tablet, and phones. The setup demonstrates internet distribution, device roles, and Wi-Fi coverage.
Artifact 3: Cisco Packet Tracer LAN Design Lab (CYSE250)
Set up a small LAN using three PCs connected through a hub and used Packet Tracer’s PDU/OSI tool to trace an ICMP ping between devices.
