Reuben Paul demonstrates how everyday devices and public Wi-Fi can be exploited. In the video, he hacks a reporter’s Twitter via a fake hotspot and even transforms a bluetooth toy into a listening device. This shows how deeply he’s embedded himself in cyber culture, publishing tutorials, speaking at conferences, and constantly learning new tech vulnerabilities. This reminds me of what I read about social layers of cybersecurity and the human factor being the weakest link. Reuben plays precisely that role, he is part of the human layer but also a defender, turning vulnerability into insight. Also, from our module on cybersecurity and regulation, his example highlights how knowledge, secrecy, and technology interact. He uses secrecy and deep technical knowledge to expose system weaknesses. It echoes the idea that the best defenses often come from insiders who understand both the rules and how to break them.
