HOW ADVERTISEMENTS EFFECT GENDER VIEWS ACROSS THE WORLD
This advertisement embodies how media has portrayed the female body in modern society, I choose this image because it showcases how media can determine the views of the female anatomy.
During my research on advertisements directed towards gender roles and how they are portrayed in North America and United Kingdom. I was so stunned at some of the advertisements I had found in the media today and in the past decades. I couldn’t believe how cruel most advertisements were against females and body shaming. I cant imagine how this images may effect most of our youth today. Making today’s females to believe these Photoshop images are exactly how they should look or behave. This assignment reminds me of my final gender project in Psychology of Women and how the media impacts our decisions, trends and thoughts about one another. For this project I had to make a slideshow on many different representations in media and the entertainment business with visual representations. My visual representations were all generated from music/entertainment, fashion and the advertisements during the Superbowl. Sadly within my PowerPoint slide I saw similar attitudes towards women and their body image. Only this time in my research, I found older advertisements from the 50’s and 60’s era; they were horrifying. For example, comparing women to a vacuum cleaner is a clear message of sexiest views. This was the same for our male counterparts as they were as made to be extremely masculine with cut out abs and always depicting roles of masculinity. In the end this was a good way for me to relieve my mind of some of the thoughts I had when I saw the advertisements on television/internet today about male and females. Some Ads today are still over exaggerated,sexist and just wrong. I was able to clear my thoughts and put my aggravation into a nicely outlined master piece I made my own that stands for everything I believe in, thus including equality for the sexes.

BLOGGING FOR EVERYONE
The image is the perfect example of my newly found blogging experience for this summer semester.
Throughout this assignment I started to realized how my peers and I have the same outlooks on culture. It seems a lot of students are curious about other cultures from their traditions, ideals and ways to have fun and explore.
As I began to search through each peers blogs, I found my own curiosity in each individual blogger. Although I wrote about one of my peers I found in the Word Press blog site, I began to research into numerous bloggers for more insight into their experiences.
This research paper reminded me of another project I had to take on in my last semester Psychology of Women class. In this assignment I had to pick a fellow student within our blackboard discussion and how their travel experiences change their views and perspectives on culture and women within the culture.
These two projects have impacted my thoughts, views and ideals about cultures. Making me gain a sense of curiosity myself. Since I have been dreaming and planning my own travels in foreign lands to have to the very same experiences.

What I have Learned Thus Far…

In Search of New Values
For this weeks assignment I begin to realize how much I have learned and overcome already throughout the semester. In the beginning I was overwhelmed and intimidated about having a weekly blog and school website to maintain I feared I would not be capable of figuring the logistics to the site and how to operate my feeds. Since I do not have any social media account you can understand why this would come to such a challenge for me.
Assignment two, has give me insight to my own personal values and given me the sense of curiosity to learn and understand others values. This activity made me look back on some of my beginning courses in psychological. For example, my discussions boards in Child Psychology was a new subject to me. Overall in was new tool for me to interact with peers outside of the classroom setting. In the end I slowly begin to see each students individual values in their discussions about each of society biggest topics.

Assignment 1 gave me insight into new concepts and techniques. These techniques gave me the learning experience to understanding culture as a stepping stone, to becoming knowledge in all fields of the human experience. This assignment took me through an in-depth journey of my personality and traits. Even how my personal traits can affect my ability to become cultural inclined. As I began to write my assignment paper, I found myself coming into a new point of view. I was able to use my own personal experiences with different cultures to help analyze each stage and how the traits are related to culture for my research paper.
I began to make an outline of how I would cover all of the topics presented. Assignment 1 is similar to an assignment I had for Juvenile Delinquency project; my approach compared the culture experience, traits and environment to individuals experiences within the justice system. As I began to analyze each characteristics within communities and how poverty can be one of the major contributors to criminal activities among others. I began to related some of the concepts I learned from this experience to Assignment 1, in hope of widening my range of knowledge to my own traits and how I can become experienced in all fields of culture.
I have gain many new insights into culture, as well sharpened my writing skills in the process. I enjoy writing, investigating and coming to conclusions on how a theory can deliver a positive message to the world!
