Vulnerabilities with Infrastructure Systems
There are many reasons why an infrastructural system may fail, and it may not be what you think. A major reason why they may fail is due to lack of promising security protection. Some security issues include limited monitoring throughout the systems and not enough incident response teams responding to the threat. Another issue includes us as people being vulnerable to threats and we do not have enough education or experience with dealing with the threat. Falling for phishing emails or lacking the awareness of your cybersecurity in a company can lead to attackers exploiting and having access to personal and sensitive information that needs to be protected. Most of the time when there are human factors that occur to cyberattacks are because there was no real training and understanding on what to do in situations that may arise. Bottom line, the key reasons why there are so many security issues come from the fact we continue to have human errors that can be avoided, weak and unprotected files inside of key technology, and there is an increase in ways to exploit technology. The role that Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition play in mitigating risk is having the ability to monitor and detect any signs of problems or malfunctions. When they do detect anything harmful, they send out alerts throughout the system to those who are in charge of watching over the system. They then send a response team to handle it. The SCADA mitigate the risk by improving on reacting to problems faster, improve the handling of different systems at once, and they are perfect for protecting people and the assets that are put in place.
Conclusion
The SCADA is crucial for keeping information safe while managing other important files at the same time while in all being reliable.
