I attended CS2A’s CyberOps 2024 Conference on October 26th, and was able to network with peers and some industry professionals. During the event, I was especially interested in the presentation given by Casey Dye. His presentation focused on how artificial intelligence is changing the cybersecurity industry and the professionals themselves. In order to be better prepared for the workforce, we must know how to integrate AI into systems and work at a higher level to solve things that AI cannot. Additionally, Jill Rabach’s presentation on how to get a job, particularly in the cybersecurity industry, was very interesting. In addition to learning from the presenters, I was able to network with upperclassmen at ODU as well as a few other professionals in the industry. This experience was invaluable in preparing myself for internships and entering the workforce as a whole.
