In this exercise, you will use your favorite AI tool (Chat GPT, Gemini, Perplexity, CoPilot, or other) to explore and analyze where you should locate a Cybersecurity department within your organization.
This is a SUGGESTED PROMPT that you could use (You may experiment!)
I am part of a large publicly traded company. We are starting a cybersecurity program and debating where this new department should be located in the organization. Some say it should be under the information technology department, while others say it should be under Finance. Still others think it should be under Operations. There are even those who think it should report directly to the CEO. Create a 2 – 4 page analysis of the pros and cons of locating our new Cybersecurity department in these areas of the organization.
DELIVERABLE
1. First, study the output from your AI tool.
2. Then, Copy/Paste the output into a document
3. The output will most likely contain language you may be unfamiliar with. Using MS Word’s Comment function (found under “Review”), highlight at least two areas where you have a question and enter the question.
4. After studying the AI output, you are to create a memo to the CEO recommending where the cybersecurity department should be located in the organization.
5. Your memo should be long enough to adequately communicate your proposal, but no more than two pages.
6. In your own words, describe where you want the Cybersecurity department located and why. Include the pros and cons as well as your conclusion.
7. You will turn in a SINGLE DOCUMENT that contains…
1. The output from your AI tool, along with your questions, followed by a page break.
2. Then, in the same document and on the page break described above, your analysis.
