About Me

My academic career has been anything but standard. Due to health problems I graduated from high school a year early, and from there I began my college career at TCC. Two years of heavy course loads later, I transferred to ODU to further my education and achieve a degree. Though I do not like allowing my health to impact my decisions pertaining to my education; I have come to accept and appreciate the way it molded my academic path and career goals. I truly believe everything happens for a reason; and I am loving where I’m at on my journey of education! I am majoring in psychology and minoring in biology. My goal after receiving my degree is to get a Masters of Genetic Counseling, and become a genetic counselor. The speed it takes to reach that goal does not matter; when moving forward in education, at any rate, is a great thing. I have made a promise to myself that my health must be number one on my priority list. I’m continually trying to think of the “big picture” of life; and to not get overwhelmed by things that are minuscule in the long run.
