Critical thinking is one of the most essential competencies in cybersecurity, where analysts must evaluate complex situations, interpret information from multiple sources, and make informed decisions to protect systems and data. This skill involves questioning assumptions, applying logic, examining evidence, and considering diverse perspectives before reaching a conclusion. In cybersecurity, critical thinking is crucial for analyzing threats, assessing organizational risk, evaluating ethical implications, and developing effective policies or solutions to emerging problems. I strengthened my critical thinking abilities through a combination of analytical writing, discipline-based research, and investigative academic assignments at Old Dominion University. These projects pushed me to evaluate information deeply, integrate ideas from multiple fields, and form well-supported conclusions grounded in both theory and practical understanding.
